Campers improve study skills, as well as knowledge in basic skills like math, science, English and computer technology. Program includes a wide range of sports and outdoor activities (horseback riding, archery, tennis, camping). 700 acre coastal range campus offers the perfect setting for a challenging 4, 5, or 6 week summer program. For ages 5-18 Day and 8-18 Residential. (ages: 5-18)

Science day camps. Topics include Wings and Flying Things, Far Out Physics, X-treme Science, Space and Rocketry. (ages: grades k-6)

Half-day and whole-day science in various sciences, natural history, survival. All programs maintain a ratio of one adult for every five to six participants. (ages: 3-14)

At Stoller Middle School German, French and Spanish immersion program; 10-student maximum per group; language, geography, history and culture; hands-on learning. (ages: grades 2-9)

Amiguitos! will offer 4 Spanish Immersion summer camps for 2007. For descriptions of our themes, click here. The emphasis is on outdoor play and fun. We explore sports and nature in our own beautiful wooded setting. We accept children with no prior knowledge of Spanish in all of our summer camps. At Amiguitos! each child experiences the kind of attention that promotes a successful initial school experience. Each program revolves around monthly themes with arts, crafts, activities, and play taking place throughout each day. Children are split into 3 small groups and rotate throughout their day in an activity room, arts and crafts room, and library/computer lab. (ages: 3-5 and 5-10)

The mission of Chess Odyssey is to equip our students with useful tools and strategies for increasing success at the complex game of chess, while developing creative, intellectual and life skills. Our instruction is designed to enhance enjoyment, as well as help the student win more games. Students are provided with continuing opportunities for playing chess, whether just for fun or in competition. (ages: 6-19)

Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering and Mathematics will host their first annual summer camp this year. Our week-long day camp for middle school girls will feature hands-on activities, a design competition, and an array of site visits selected from our diverse network of professionals in the Portland metropolitan area. Visit OHSU to do experiments in a lab, a transportation office to learn about the bridges in Portland, or a restoration site to plant trees and identify native plants. July 18-July 22nd, 2005 at Portland State University.

Summer Camps at Audubon Society of Portland are exciting week-long experiences in the natural world. Choose from a variety of themes. There are half and full-day programs, Excursions with overnighters, and week-long "Mobile Adventures." (ages: grades 1-12)

Activities include rockets & aerodynamics; chemistry, biology, astronomy; morning, afternoon or full-day available in 20 locations in the Portland-Vancouver area. (ages: 7-12)

Exploration into the natural world of Tryon Creek State Park in SW Portland. Come spend a day in the woods, learning about local ecology, studying native plants and animals, singing songs, creating experiements, playing games, and telling stories. (ages: 4-14)
